What Training do I need to
Test and Tag in Queensland?

The training requirement for Test and Tag in Queensland is different to the rest of Australia, dependant on your intended testing activities. There are two different scenarios: –

Scenario 1

You are intending to only Test and Tag your own tools, leads and equipment or that of your current employer.

  1. Complete a training course to the Competent Person level as required by Worksafe.
  2. Work in compliance with AS/NZS 3760 & 3012 standards.
  3. Maintain competency through regular skills application.
  4. Refresh training if there has been a substantial lapse in your skills application or there have been significant changes to the standard, the testing equipment or the type of equipment being tested.

ATTA Training can provide you with the qualification to satisfy this requirement in Queensland.

Scenario 2

You are intending to offer Test and Tag as a Commercial Enterprise and provide this service to other businesses in Queensland.

  1. Complete a Nationally Recognised Training course that provides you with a Statement of Attainment and a Transcript of Learning. Currently that is UEERL0003 – Conduct in-service safety testing of electrical cord connected equipment and cord assemblies.
  2. Apply to the QLD Electrical Safety Office for a Restricted Electrical Contractors Licence
  3. Work in compliance with AS/NZS 3760 & 3012 standards.
  4. Maintain competency through regular skills application.
  5. Refresh training if there has been a substantial lapse in your skills application or there are significant changes to the standard, the testing equipment or the type of equipment being tested.

ATTA Training doesn’t provide the qualification to satisfy this requirement in Queensland.
